Sofie van Rooij

Hello everyone!

My name is Sofie van Rooij, I am 19 years old and I live in Sint-Michielsgestel in the Netherlands. I have been riding horses since I was four years old, so horses have always been a big part of my life. As a family, we work hard every day to pursue our dreams and achieve our goals in the sport.

With my horse Juan Tango B, I compete in dressage and we have already achieved some great results together. I competed in the Hartog Team Challenge during Indoor Friesland in the ZZ-L level, where I won my class and our team finished second overall.

One of the absolute highlights of my career so far was representing the Netherlands at the 2025 European Championships in Le Mans. Together with the team, we won a fantastic silver medal, and individually I finished fourth on all three competition days. It was a dream come true and an experience I will always look back on with great pride.

I also became Brabant Champion at ZZ-L level and qualified for both the Dutch Championships and The Dutch Masters. In the meantime, Juan and I have made the step up to the Young Riders category. I was really looking forward to this new chapter and I am excited to continue developing myself at this level.

Besides Juan, I also ride several other horses, including young horses. I really enjoy working with different horses, as every horse is unique and teaches me something new as a rider. My ambition is to keep developing myself and hopefully compete at the highest possible level in the future.

Good nutrition plays an important role in achieving these goals. I am therefore very grateful to be part of the Hartog team and to have their products as an essential part of our daily horse management. We feed products including Hartog Comfort, Hartog Daily, Hartog Strength and Hartog Lucerne Pellets.

For me, it is very important that our horses feel healthy, fit and comfortable, both at home and during competitions. Good nutrition provides an important foundation for this and helps us keep our horses in the best possible condition.

I am incredibly proud and grateful to be part of the Hartog Family, and I hope we can continue this wonderful partnership for many more years!
