Indoor Friesland: are we meeting you during the premiere “de Wereld van Luiten”?

Friday, 18th October 2024

Coming soon to Horse&Country+, “The World of Luiten.” In this new docuseries, made possible by Hartog Horse Feed and supported by the KNHS, dressage rider Marten Luiten is followed closely, along with his family. The first footage is still under wraps, but the series will premiere during Indoor Friesland, and you can be there!

On Saturday evening, October 26, Indoor Friesland promises to be a unique, emotional, and educational night where the technical side of dressage is combined with humor, friendship, and striving to bring out the best in yourself. With the premiere of the docuseries “The World of Luiten” and the Hartog Masterclass “The Secret to Earning That Extra Point,” top talent Marten Luiten, also an ambassador of Indoor Friesland, takes center stage.

About Marten Luiten

Marten Luiten is a Dutch dressage rider who has enjoyed great success at both national and international competitions and championships throughout his youth career. His trophy cabinet is filled with numerous Dutch and European medals, and these achievements earned him the title of Talent of the Year in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In “The World of Luiten,” viewers truly step into Marten’s world, following his training sessions, his love for his horses, and the challenges faced by riders. Behind the scenes, we’ll see the preparations for the Dutch and European Championships and what it takes to perform at the top level. His mother also plays a key role in the series, accompanying him as his groom and supporting him at competitions. His brother Gijs isn’t into horses, but still helps out wherever he can.

Hartog Masterclass: “The secret to earning that extra point”

The premiere of this exciting series is intertwined with the educational Masterclass “The Secret to Earning That Extra Point.” Adopted by Hartog Horse Feed, this masterclass promises to be an incredibly informative, enlightening, and valuable event on the Saturday night of Indoor Friesland’s dressage weekend. Multi-European Champion Marten Luiten explains why: “This valuable masterclass addresses a topic that every dressage rider is always thinking about. You often hear discussions about judging, training methods, and differences between judges. These themes are frequently talked about and widely discussed. Just open Facebook, and you’ll see plenty of examples. To bring some clarity and dive deeper into these topics, we decided to organize this masterclass. What do you encounter in tests, why are they judged the way they are, and what can you do to improve yourself as a combination and rider? That’s what the masterclass is all about for me. I believe that every rider, whether competing or not, can benefit from it, because in the end, it’s all about developing your horse.”

Educational Hartog Masterclass with top judges Peutz and Baarup

The Hartog Masterclass promises to be an educational and fascinating evening led by judges Monique Peutz, coach of the Dutch pony riders, and Olympic judge Susanne Baarup. Together with Marten, they will share their expertise on how riders can earn that extra point in dressage. Monique, with her background in German training and experience as an FEI judge, offers a unique perspective on optimizing tests. Susanne, from Denmark, will discuss the impressive rise of Danish dressage. Marten highlights the importance of a strong first impression and focusing on the horse’s strengths. What makes this evening even more special is that the audience will actively participate in the judging, leading to valuable insights and discussions. The event will be hosted by Wesley Mulder, and with the premiere of “The World of Luiten,” this evening is a must-attend for everyone who loves the sport of dressage.
