My name is Jasmijn Noordzij. I am 16 years old, and horses have been my greatest passion from a very young age — a passion passed on to me by my mother. I started riding at six years old, first on a friend’s Shetland pony and later on my own C-pony, Leonardo, with whom I competed at Z1 level. I became Zeeland Champion multiple times and competed in several Dutch National Championships (NK), achieving two fourth-place finishes.
Currently, I compete with my pony D Casablanca. He is an approved stallion, and I have trained him myself from the performance test up to Z2 level. In addition, I have two horses and a foal. With my horse Ona van Wittenstein, I compete at L2 level. We became Zeeland Champions twice at B and L1 level. She had a year off due to having a foal. We bred the foal ourselves, and I am incredibly proud and happy with our beautiful Extreme U.S. colt, who is now at home with a companion.
At the moment, I am training my three-year-old horse Soldier together with Romy Schaftenaar. We have had this gelding since he was a foal, and I am extremely proud of how he has grown up on Hartog feed into a beautiful, big, and healthy horse (and he really is big!). He has been under saddle for two months now, and we are taking his training step by step. It remains very special to raise and train a horse yourself from foal to riding horse.
In sport, I have already achieved wonderful results. With my pony, I became Reserve Dutch Champion twice and Zeeland Champion six times. I also won the Young Pony Competition Pluvinel, and he was approved as a breeding stallion. With the horses, I have become regional champion twice. Together with my ponies and horses, we have achieved many victories and successes. Highlights include winning the Almelose Ruiterdagen at M level and being selected four times for the HTC Talent Team.
The welfare of my horses always comes first. That is why I work with Hartog Horsefeed. My mare Ona van Wittenstein P gave birth to her first foal, Valentino, this year, and she was optimally supported by Hartog during her pregnancy and afterwards. My three-year-old Soldier came back from the rearing facility somewhat underweight, but thanks to a personalised feeding plan from Hartog, he now looks strong, healthy, and well-muscled. My top-level pony also receives the right daily nutritional support.
Besides competing, I am active on Instagram under @jasmijnnoordzij, where I share my daily life with horses, training, and care with nearly 20,000 followers. As a Hartog ambassador, I find it important to share my honest experiences and to show how proper nutrition contributes to health, performance, and equine welfare. I have truly seen a big difference in my three-year-old Soldier thanks to Hartog’s nutrition, and I am very proud to represent this brand as an ambassador.
